Everypawdy, meet Dobby!

He is estimated to have been born in 2018. He has been at the shelter for a while now, and definitely does not belong here. Dobby is a shy boy and often cowers when being leashed up and is afraid of the outdoor world. We don’t know what happened to him in the past, but we don’t want sweet Dobby to be afraid of the world and its people. Every now and then we see a little light in his eyes, a spark, a pep in his step, or even a slight tail wag, showing us he has potential. We know Dobby just wants to feel safe and happy!

Here’s what some of our volunteers had to say about Dobby:“Dobby has grown sooooo much from when I first met him, and I am so amazed and proud of the progress he has made. When he first came to the shelter, he was always crouched down low and would always dart back to his kennel. We could barely keep him outside his kennel. But with the hard work of the staff, trainers, and volunteers at Yongin Pound, Dobby has improved a lot!”

“This was my third time walking Dobby (봉구), and it’s official: Dobby is a water dog! He has always been one of the shyest dogs at YPAP, and lying down in the river is how he likes to relax. It’s his Happy Place. When Dobby is on land, he likes to run around in circles and make me dizzy. The outside world is still a scary place for him (except for the river!), but I was able to get Dobby to walk nicely by keeping the leash short and insisting that he not try to spin me around in circles. Sweet Dobby is a very good boy. He proves that every time I see him. And compared to the first time we met, back when he immediately tried to escape my clutches and go back to his cage, he really has come a long way. He is gaining confidence, and someday he will be his true self again. “Dobby is looking for a master who can give him a sock, so Dobby can be free! He would love an amazing forever family who can give him the time and space he needs in order to come out of his shell and start to enjoy life as a happy doggo! If you would like to adopt Dobby, please email us, and we’ll help you get started on the adoption process.
