Elana is a 20kg female mixed breed (maybe jindo? Maybe shiba? We’re not sure) who has been a resident at our shelter for quite some time now since 2020. She was admitted along with her kennelmate Matt. We estimate her to be born in 2018 but she is still rather young and energetic. Elana also loves to run around and play in the playpen with her kennelmate, Matt. She is a sweet girl who listens well, especially with treats! And she does a “sit” everytime someone asks her to! Elana loves her snackies and she loves our hooman volunteers even more! She does her airplane ears everytime and her tail goes crazy for our baby voice!
Here’s what one of our volunteers had to say about Elana:
“She is the more courageous one of the two with more initiative. She was excited to be out and didn't hesitate to dip her paws in the river on this hot day, while Matt was content just to sit back and watch.
She had more energy but she wasn't a strong puller. She responded to leash pressure and didn't go too far away from her human handlers for the day. She was more interested in exploring than eating treats and let Matt have what she dropped.
It was really cute to see Elana check up on Matt and give him doggie kisses because he is the slower one of the two. Elana enjoyed her brushing but did not care to have her nails touched like most dogs.”
Elana is looking for a forever family who can give her endless love and treats! If you would like to adopt Elana, please send us an adoption application and we’ll help you get started on the adoption process.
