Everypawdy, meet Lapras! Lapras is a 15kg 2 year old jindo mix girlie who joined us in May 2023. Looking quite disheveled and also appearing to have given birth sometime in the recent past, we were prepared for a scared shy dog when we approached….but boy, were we wrong!! From the day she arrived, Lapras has shown herself to be a sweet, gentle lady who loves human touch, gives kisses, and asks for belly rubs from all! And when the camera comes out, she loves to look up and show her bright beautiful eyes and pretty smile! Lapras can show a bit of timidness around sudden moving objects and some dogs that approach too quickly, but she is still getting used to a whole new environment after all! Overall she just seems like a true gem of a dog who deserves an awesome home to be her happy self in!
Here is what one of Lapras’ first walking volunteers had to share about her.
“This girl Lapras came to the shelter about a month ago. "Another white Jindo mix," we thought. Yes, she may look like some of our other dogs. But no, she is special because others don't adapt to a new, scary place as easy as she did. I was one of the first ones to walk her, and already she was great with the leash. The girl was happy, and showed nothing but love towards everyone and every dog. She was confident, happy to take snacks, and had a ton of fun diving into the water. I named her Lapras, after the rare Pokemon that thrives in water and seemingly understands human speech. With amazing qualities as such, surely there is a fitting home out there for this girl?”
While we have come to love getting to spend time with sweet Lapras every weekend, we would love it even more if she were to find her forever family as soon as possible! If you’d like to offer Lapras a life full of belly rubs, love, and fun, send us an adoption application and we can tell you more information about the adoption process!
