Moomin is our lovable big baby hippo who arrived at the shelter in April 2021. He has been growing up alongside his siblings Chai, Nellie, Luna, and Zuko. While Chai and Zuko have already found their forever homes, Moomin and his remaining siblings are still waiting for theirs. Moomin was an adorable chubby hippo weighing only 3kg when he first arrived, with a round face and big paws. Over time, he has grown into his paws and has become a kind and gentle good boy.

Moomin actually had potential adopters who were eagerly waiting for him to join their family when he was a cute little pup. However, for reasons unknown to us, the adopters cut off contact with Moomin and us, depriving him of the opportunity to leave the shelter. We suspect that Moomin's appearance changed as he grew and the adopters had second thoughts, but we still find him absolutely adorable! We believe that Moomin will find someone who will never abandon him. We have full confidence in that!

Here's what one of our volunteers had to say about sweet, shy, and gentle Moomin:
"The boy was hesitant to leave his kennel at first, but once he stepped out, he blossomed. Well, until he encountered stairs and hesitated again. During our walk, he sniffed around as if savoring the scent of freedom. On our way back, he showed bravery by confidently climbing a small slope towards home, while his kennel mates mostly laid down, hoping for someone to carry them. With a little practice, he will become a good, confident boy in no time!"

Moomin is searching for a forever family who can provide him with unconditional love and never abandon him like before. He truly deserves a home and people who will cherish him. If you would like to adopt Moomin, please contact us via email or submit an adoption application form. We'll be delighted to assist you in starting the adoption process!

  • Bahavior with cat or children

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.

  • Cost of the adoption

YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

  • Vaccinations and spaying

All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
