Sweet, pretty Shilo came to the shelter in July 2018. She is estimated to have been born in 2016, so she has spent more than half her life in the shelter. Shilo is an affectionate, adorable white jindo mix with a snout covered in light brown freckles. She loves people SO much and is far more interested in cuddles and human attention than anything else. Shilo does seem to become agitated by other dogs that come too close, but any human with or without treats is her instant best friend. Shilo walked at a good pace and was happy to explore and sniff around. Let’s get this angel a permanent cuddle buddy to spend her life with!
Here’s what one of our volunteers had to say about Shilo:
“From the moment Shilo met us, her tail was up and wagging. She was not timid at all! She sniffed us and soon was happy to let us pat her. Happy was probably an understatement. She was absolutely thrilled to have people around her.
Shilo knew the drill on the walk. She was confident, and knew to follow our lead. She loved that we ran with her occasionally and it was a joy to run with her. Shilo was not so motivated by snacks but simply by being around humans and getting their attention. A few times she came close to us asking for a pat and a massage.
We were warned that Shilo could be a bit aggressive towards other dogs, but we found that it was easy to distract her when other dogs were close by. All one needed to do was a little pat and lead her away.
Shilo is definitely one of my most favourite dogs at the shelter and it is a shame to see this angel there. I am certain that she would become the darling of any home that she goes to.”
